As America have moved forward as a country, we’ve become more Liberal. The Women’s Rights Movement that led to Women getting the Right to Vote. The Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s and 70s, perfect examples of this. We just elected our first African American President a little over three years ago. The country is split on Same Sex Marriage, where ten years ago it wasn’t even on the Political Radar. Now if the California decision holds up. 60% of the country will be living in a State with Same Sex Marriage. Legalize Marijuana may be headed to Washington State and Colorado as well as Connecticut in 2012. After getting very close in 2010 in California. And as we are becoming more Liberal to even Libertarian, as a result. Big Government is losing support in America and we are becoming a country. That as Barry Goldwater described his politics, that we want Big Government out of our wallets and bedrooms. The Individual Liberty to live our own lives.
This is why Ron Paul is so popular with Young Voters in 2012. Because he’s a Libertarian and why Barack Obama was so popular was so popular. With Young Voters in 2008, because he was seen as the Liberal Democrat. That was going to move America past the Neoconservatism of the Bush Administration. And we were going to become a country where we were all judged as individuals. Not by our sexuality or race or anything else thats not relevant. And we were going to become a country, where we have the liberty to live our own lives. And not be interfered by Government, without Probable Cause. And that Big Government was going to get out of our way and let us live our lives. Thats why Ron Paul appeals to so many Young Voters.
This is a lesson that Religious and Neoconservatives and even Progressives. Pushing their own version of Big Government are going to have to learn. And adjust, especially as they continue to lose Court Decisions. Which is what the Far Right did Tuesday, if these people want. To remain relevant in American Politics. Or they’ll just fade away without the support to remain viable.
